The two small villages of Two Dales and Darley Bridge, are both situated less than half a mile from the A6, between Matlock and Bakewell and within only a short walk of the famous Peak National Park

Both cottages are in ideal positions for anyone looking for an outdoor holiday in some of the most beautiful countryside in England, situated just outside the Peak District National Park. The  location is perfect as a base for exploring as both Toad Cottage and Oaker View are approximately half a mile from the A6, the main road between Matlock and Bakewell.

Several beautiful walks can be accessed directly from the cottages, allowing quick and easy exploration of various local woods, dales and moorlands allowing you sightings of wild boar, deer and pheasants. Details of all the owner's favourite walks in the local area, with directions to ensure you don't get lost, can be found in the cottages.

Serious walkers have only a couple of fields to cross before they can walk directly into the Peak National Park where a myriad of footpaths can lead you onto open moorland, into wooded valleys and past the famous gritstone outcrops. The High Peak Trail, the Limestone Way, the Monsal Trail and the Tissington Trail are all within easy reach for walkers but also for a family cycle ride whereas mountain cyclists will find the entire White Peak area to their liking. The Peak District is also an excellent location those who enjoy climbing and bouldering. The Derwent Valley has some of the most dramatic climbing but almost every Dale on the White Peak has sheer faces to offer a challenge.
